Below is a list of frequently asked questions.

How do I make a booking?

Email or message me on Facebook to check availability for the dates you require; provide me with initial information on your dog and give me your email address (or postal address if you don’t use email).

If the dates you require are available, I will send you my Terms and Conditions and Booking Form which need to be completed and returned to secure your requested dates.

What are your fees for home boarding?

I charge £25 per day inclusive of drop off and collection days. However, if you arrange to, and collect your dog by 10.00am, that day's fee will be waived.

There is an additional supplement of £10 per day on Bank Holidays.

Your dog will require a 24 hour trial stay and I offer this at a reduced rate of £20.

Are all dogs suitable for home boarding?

The Samoyed Hotel is only suitable for friendly, family dogs.

All dogs must be neutered and over 12 months of age by the date of boarding.

I accept most breeds as long as they are obedient, non-destructive, non-aggressive and have a calm and gentle nature.

As the facility is a home from home, all dogs must be fully house-trained. I do not accept incontinent dogs or dogs that chew furniture or other household items.

Can I visit The Samoyed Hotel prior to the proposed stay?

I want you to see where your dog is going to be staying while you are away and both you and your dog needs to visit. Once you have made a booking you will be asked to attend a ‘Meet and Greet’ to ensure that your dog and my resident dogs are comfortable with each other.

What happens at the Meet and Greet?

Meet and Greet is by appointment only.

You will be asked to drop your dog off at the property and I will take them into the house where they will meet my resident dogs and have the opportunity to play and get to know each other. I ask owners to leave their dog for 45 minutes after which you return to collect your dog, have a look around the facilities, complete any final paperwork and confirm details of vaccinations, meal times, sleeping arrangements etc.

 

Can I make a provisional booking?

I understand that planning and booking your own holiday can be difficult. I am happy to hold a provisional booking for 72hrs to allow you time to check and confirm your own holiday. After that time, if I haven't received your booking form and deposit, I need to release the dates to other guests.

When will I need to pay for my booking?

A 25% deposit is due at the time of submitting the Booking Form. The deposit can be paid by bank transfer or in cash.

The dates are not secured until I receive your deposit. If for some reason you can’t pay your deposit at the time of booking and would still like your dog to stay at The Samoyed Hotel, please contact me to discuss.

The remaining balance should be made by bank transfer or cash up to 7 days in advance of drop off.

Is it possible to pay for my booking by installments?

Once your deposit is paid, I am happy to accept regular monthly payments towards your dog’s holidays if it helps you to budget. The total amount payable must still be paid 7 days prior to drop off.

What time can I drop off my dog and does the time that I leave or collect my dog affect the cost?

Drop-off and pick-up is pre-arranged and is between 9.00am and 6.00pm. 

If there are extenuating circumstances affecting drop-off or pick up times, I try to be flexible so please contact me to discuss.

I charge per day which includes drop off and collection days.  However, if you have arranged to and pick up your dog before 10.00am on collection day, you will not be charged for that day.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

I understand that sometimes, things don’t always go to plan. If you need to cancel your booking my cancellation policy is as follows:
Cancelling within 3 days of check-in – 100% of the fee is payable.
Cancelling within 14 days of check-in – 50% of the fee is payable.
Cancelling at any other time – 25% (your deposit) is payable.

 

Can I collect my dog early?

If you return from your holiday early and wish to collect your dog before the agreed check-out date/time this can be arranged. Please text, phone, or e-mail me in advance. No refunds will be due.

Does my dog need to be vaccinated?

Yes. Your dog should always have its annual vaccinations to protect it against infections and disease. I also require your dog to be vaccinated against Kennel Cough.

You are required to provide documentary proof that your dog has up to date vaccinations including kennel cough. Any primary vaccination must have been completed at least two weeks before the ‘Meet and Greet’.

I also require that the dog has been treated for worms, ticks and fleas. 

You will need to either scan and email me the proof of vaccinations or send a picture to me prior to the 'Meet and Greet'.  I require you to leave the original document with me whilst your dog is boarding.

 

What will I need to provide for my dog during their stay?

The Samoyed Hotel is luxury home-from-home accommodation and I want your dogs stay to be as happy and stress-free as possible. I ask that you bring your dogs own bed and blanket and its usual food for the duration of its stay to provide some continuity and help ensure a quick settling-in period. If your dog has special dietary needs or medication I am happy to oblige. If your dog eats fresh food, you will need to cook this and provide the food in freezer bags that can be defrosted each day.

I do provide bowls (unless you require otherwise).

You can bring some of your pet’s toys with them, although you may wish to send your older, less precious ones just in case. I cannot guarantee their safe return.!

Your dog must be wearing a collar to enable me to use my own ID tags during their stay.
